Level Headed
Level Headed was aimed at the fishing industry. It was produced for the Maritime & Coastguard Agency to highlight stability issues on beam trawlers and describe best practice for their safe operation. Shot in Lowestoft, Newlyn and at sea, it includes 3D computer graphics, boat to boat footage of a beam trawler at work and interviews with well known fishermen.

Callisto clearly did a great deal of research, talking to skippers and industry leaders before they wrote the script and started filming. They took time to really get a thorough understanding of the issues and how the industry felt about these important safety matters.
They took great care with the shooting and editing of their interviews and it shows. It puts fishermen talking to their peers right at the centre of the film. This was a clever creative touch, very effective, and the industry really liked the result. Feedback suggests that they believe it was the best film ever produced on behalf of the MCA for the fishing industry.
Were delighted with the video. Its a really excellent piece of work. We distributed enough tapes to supply every beam trawler in the UK, but the interest generated by the programme has been so great that weve had to produce two more batches to meet demand. ![]()
